István Szekely is a concert pianist and professor at the Katarina Gurska Superior Conservatory in Madrid and the Franz Liszt Center for Special Talents in La Nucia (Spain). An internationally recognised pedagogue, he has given masterclasses across Europe and Latin America, including in Budapest, Novi Sad, Madrid, Bucaramanga, Manizales, and numerous conservatories and special music schools in Serbia and Spain.

He is also a frequent jury member at international piano competitions, among them the Franz Liszt International Competition in Rome, the Takács Competition in Oberschützen, the IMFV Valencia Competition, the Ibiza International Competition, and the Villa de Xàbia International Contest.
