Violinist
Violinist Jane Lee is 15 years old and a Music Scholar at St Paul’s Girls’ School. Jane attends the Junior Department at the Royal College of Music, learning under Professor Viktoria Grigoreva. Jane has achieved the DipABRSM Diploma for violin. She won 1st prize at the Marjorie Humby Competition and 1st prize at the Hugh Bean String Competition, both at the Royal College of Music. This privilege allowed her to receive the awards from Stephen Bryant, leader of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Recently, Jane was a prizewinner in the Barbara Boissard Concerto Competition at the Royal College of Music. She was awarded runner-up in the Barnes Young Musician of the Year. Jane received 1st prize as a Gold medallist in the String Premier Challenge at the North London Festival. Additionally, she achieved 1st prize at the Mill Hill Music Competition and the Audience Prize at the Winners’ Gala. She won the top prize Young Instrumentalist of the Year at the Richmond Music Festival 2024, along with the Cyril Kemplay Memorial Trophy and 1st prize in the festival’s concerto competition. In the field of recitals, Jane was invited to give a solo recital at the Guild of Mercers’ Scholars Installation Dinner at Ironmongers Hall. This paved the way for future opportunities, as she received an invitation to perform a solo recital at the Barnes Music Society AGM. Most recently, she was honoured to be able to present a solo recital at the historic sporting venue, the Queen’s Tennis Club, to over a hundred guests, whom were all members of the Lawn Tennis Association. Jane is a regular member of the New Virtuosi Masterclasses and Jersey International Masterclasses. She had the utmost privilege of being invited to a masterclass with renowned violinist Professor Hyo Kang at the Juilliard School, Manhattan, USA in 2023, performing Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D major. She actively participates in enriching her musical journey by engaging in various music competitions and activities.
